Nashville, Tennessee – Jamie Lidell will be releasing his new album Building a Beginning on October 14 via Jajulin Records. Just last week, his track “Walk Right Back” got the royal treatment from Nashville-based electronic trio BASECAMP. This remix is a bueatiful blend of chill electronica with some more dancey vibe. With Lidell’s soulful R&B vocals spinning, BASECAMP brings the song a new sound that plays around with a lot of different sounds and layers.

Nashville, TN – Keep it smooth this afternoon with R.LUM.R’s newest track “Frustrated”. The future beats on this song go perfectly with his vocals and the vocal alterations don’t completely overwhelm the track. There’s just a hint of Gallant in this track with some Cosmo’s Midnight. The R&B lyrics give the song a nice backing with all the electronica.

Stream — The American Vogue: “I Don’t Care About the Lights”

Nashville-based indie dance band The American Vogue shared their debut single “I Don’t Care About the Lights” today. Think Two Door Cinema Club meets The Wombats and you’ll get this fantastic combination. They have the catchiness of TDCC when they first came out years ago and they have the cool, fast-paced indie rock sound of The Wombats. I love the upbeat nature of this song – it’s one of those indie songs you put on when you just need something uplifting to help you work.

Nashville-based band Promised Land Sound will be releasing their sophomore album For Use and Delight on 10/2 via Paradise of Bachelors. The first single to be released from the album is “She Takes Me There”, a soft-psychedelia track that echoes the music from the 70s soft rock era. The lyrics have a bittersweet tone to them but the song is so mellow, like White Denim on sedatives. I love the slow rhythm and Peter Stringer-Hye’s calming voice.

LA FRIENDS: PLS will be playing a show at The Echoplex on Friday, October 23 with Natalie Prass. 18+ show and tickets are $14-$17.

Nashville duo Poema will be releasing their EP Pretty Speeches on July 10. They recently uploaded “Enough Messing Around”, one of the five tracks on EP, and it can be downloaded instantly with a pre-order of their EP. This track has the perfect groove pop to it. It’s pretty mellow (just the way I like it) and it kind of has a Michael Bublé suaveness to it that I’m really digging. I’m also loving that the vocals aren’t overpowered my the instruments and they just sound so complimenting together.

It’s been well over a year since I last featured Nashville-based musician Bedroom (aka Noah Kittinger). His new track “Work This Out” reminds me of my favorite song that he released ages ago: “Nostalgic Feel”. It has the lo-fi bedroom pop sound that always hooks me. This song is the kind of mellow indie pop that I will always fall in love until my heart valves burst because I love it too much. “Work This Out” is just brilliant because it takes a while to realize how much of a minimal pop sound this track has. It creates beauty in simplicity.

I’m so not going to lie but XPLOR’s “Ready” is my kind of music to ~get it on~. It’s the kind of music you’d hear some 80s cheesy romantic part and you know people are DTF. “Ready” is taken from XPLOR’s recently released Bring Your Love Back EP and it is just one of the four fantastic electropop tracks. Their style is like a sexy blend of LANY and Australia’s Huon Kind. Just listen to the lyrics and let your body sink into the beautiful groove. I definitely recommend exploring their soundcloud if you are into “Ready”.
