Continue your Friday chill down with Emapea’s “Good Old Days” from his debut album Seeds, Roots & Fruits. It’s been awhile since I lasted posted one of his tracks but his suave style in instrumental hip hop is magnificent. All his tracks have a smooth sound but they also have a consistent beat that gives the song a bit of spice so that his music doesn’t just become background music. “Good Old Days” is perfectly relaxing with a bit of a rhythm incase you need something to work to.
Earlier in the year, I premiered R. R. Perkins’ music video for his track “Process”. Today, I’m super stoked to premiere “Time We Have Left”, taken from his upcoming release Vol. IV. Needless to say, Perkins has once again blown me away with his glorious synthpop style. I usually get bored with completely instrumental tracks but “Time We Have Left” has this psychedelic pop tint to it that gives it a nice funk overlay. Check out what Perkins has to say about the track:
It’s about that underlying gut feeling of melancholia that follows when it’s time to say goodbye to a special connection–the transitory nature of things consume you in that moment.
Vol. IV will be out within a month!
I’m beyond stoked to share with you all R.R. Perkins’ music video for his song “Process”, taken his 2015 album Vol. III. I was immediately hooked when I listened to the track because of its mellow psychedelic pop instrumentals. It reminded me of Italian electronic duo Dumbo Gets Mad and I love the exotic synthpop sounds.
The music video features drag queen Ann Artist and it was directed by James Dream. The roughness of the video gives it such an honest feel and I think Dream really plays with the psychedelia nature of the song by splicing multiple footage together into one fantasy.
Are you ready to take an exotic little trip? Take a listen to Monster Rally’s “Moonlight Ballroom”, a four minute instrumental track that will take you from your current environment into one of tropical madness. I previously shared his track “Blame” and both songs are just as ambient but I find “Moonlight Ballroom” to have a more modern ambient sound to it. Listening to the song reminds me of The Avalanches’ “Since I Left You” with its bright, upbeat sound. Either way, press play and immerse yourself in Monster Rally’s exotic sound.
Some days, we need some good instrumental music to help us get through the day. I’ve featured Tulpa before and his music always puts me in such a mellow, relaxed state. He recently released “Tea For Two”, an experimental track that plays with synths and electronica. What I like about the song is the vibe it generates – it has this cosmic feel to it that makes you feel like you’re just floating through but like you can feel every feeling in the world.
Some days, we just need a chill and relaxed state of mind to begin in the day. Released just a couple of days ago is “Little Magic Things” by Self Talk, an ethereal instrumental track that really explores the depths of different sounds. I labeled it as downtempo because of the various layers of sounds and the intricacy within it all. It’s smooth – from the wavering synths to the steady rhythm. Give it a go above and get the download on Soundcloud.
