Tomorrow, Lisa Hannigan will be releasing her third album At Swim via Play It Again Sam. I was first introduced to Hannigan a couple years ago, when I bought Dark Was The Night, and from that point forward, I’ve always admired her soft vocals and enjoyed listening to her collaborations with various artists such as The National, Damien Rice, and more. Hannigan also teamed up with Aaron Dessner to play at Eaux Claires this year.

Take a peek into At Swim with her newly released video for “Ora”. The instrumentals on this song are melodic but also strong in the orchestral build, which creates a great dynamic for Hannigan’s vocals. Her voice has a bit of a whispery, ghostly sound, which is quite complex against the gentle yet sturdy sound of the music. I love the lyrics in “Ora” as well – heartbreaking yet necessary.

I am not real...or at least not who you think I am, merely a figment of my own imagination. If you stumbled upon this blog...I can only wonder how.
