London, UK – Continuing today’s string of female vocalist, I’m so super excited to share with you guys Nilüfer Yanya’s newest track “Small Crimes”. I think the best way to describe this track is a cross between Okay Kaya and Daughter. The song is pretty minimal with just a guitar but that bareness makes her vocals even more electrifying. I love the way that the song builds because when it cuts back to the bareness, especially at the end, the song just leaves such a more impactful effect on you. Nilüfer Yanya is definitely someone to keep on your radar.

Oakland, California – An artist that I’ve really loved lately is Hazel English, who will be releasing her debut EP Never Going Home on October 7 via Marathon Artists. Today, she shared her newest track “I’m Fine”, a dreamy, synth-driven track that’ll pull your heart strings. The track starts off with some gritty guitar chords but it sets the tone of the song and contrasts nicely with English’s synthy vocals. “I’m Fine” may have a light, airy sound but the softness of the track adds a melancholy sadness that’ll catch you off guard.

Antwerp, Belgium – Strap in for Few Bits’ newest track “Sweet Warrior” because this song will take you on a rollercoaster. What intrigued me about this track is how smoothly Few Bits is able to fit in so many different sounds into one song that is just over 3.5 minutes. This song gives you a taste of soft rock, twee pop, and even a bit of psychedelic pop. The intro to “Sweet Warrior” kind of gives you taste at the dichotomous sound of the track with a light pop base but erratic psychpop sound. This is definitely an odd track but Few Bits still makes it sound cohesive and it’s worth a listen.

“Sweet Warrior” is taken off of Few Bits’ upcoming album Big Sparks out September 30 via PIAS Records.

Seoul, Korea – Last month, Neon Bunny released her sophomore album Stay Gold. I’ve been exposed to her music because she was featured on Mark Redito’s track “Daytime Disco” so when I finally heard this album, I was immediately blown away. And to be honest, I’ve been listening to a couple tracks non-stop the past few days. One of my absolute favorites is “Room314″ which features my favorite dude Mark Redito.

Her music is what I call blissfully synthy. With “Room314″, you get a bit of the classic Redito flavor mixed in so the track is pretty pop-y. But if you listen to “All I Want Is You”, Neon Bunny’s delicate vocals practically float on top of the synth and it’s driven enough by pop that it gets you hooked in the beginning.

One of my favorite songs on the album is “Romance in Seoul”. Even though the song is mostly in Korean, something about her vocals convey all the meaning I need to get from the song. The slow rhythm and her soft vocals absolutely make me swoon. All I can say is that Neon Bunny is incredible.

Bedford, UK – Get a little bit soulful this Tuesday evening with Tom Grennan and his new track “Something in the Water”. The song itself is pretty heavy with the dark melodies but the rhythm and Grennan’s vocals add a more uplifting aspect to the song. His vocals definitely stand out brilliantly in this track and the beat on the track helps highlight the strength in his voice. “Something in the Water” starts off with a pretty mellow guitar intro but hang in there and you’ll get the full impact of the song and you won’t regret it.

Nashville, Tennessee – Jamie Lidell will be releasing his new album Building a Beginning on October 14 via Jajulin Records. Just last week, his track “Walk Right Back” got the royal treatment from Nashville-based electronic trio BASECAMP. This remix is a bueatiful blend of chill electronica with some more dancey vibe. With Lidell’s soulful R&B vocals spinning, BASECAMP brings the song a new sound that plays around with a lot of different sounds and layers.

Los Angeles, California – Snowball, ii will be releasing their sophomore album Doughnut Hole on September 16 via Doughnut Records. Straying from their usual noise pop/shoegaze sound, Snowball, ii goes down the neo-folk route and present their single “I Doughnut Want To Live”. There is something about this song that is simple and honest that makes me really love it. The simple melodies and straightforward lyrics kind of remind me of Fog Lake. There is also something heartbreaking yet encouraging about “I Doughnut Want To Live” that lets me relate to it. Take a listen to the track and relish in its songwriting.
